Dear Colleagues, The target for Max Millenium Campaign #6 on 17-Mar-00 will be again be AR 8906. The co-ordinates are as follows. Target AR: 8906 on 17-Mar-00 at Yohkoh Pass 4 09:17 UT Heliographic Coordinates : S 15.4 W 43.8 SoHO X-Y : (x,y) = (643", -171") Yohkoh SXT will track the brightest pixel in the AR, with a (5.'2 x 5.'2) field of view. Note that on 18-Mar-00 (Saturday) 07:45 UT Yohkoh SXT will return to its standard mode of operation in which it automatically points to the brightest region on the disk. This situation will continue until 20-Mar-00 (Monday) at 08:06 UT when pointed observations will resume. During the weekend, observatories which can are asked to continue observing AR 8906 until it leaves the disk (theoretically the linear polarization signature varies with the angle between the LOS and the local normal, so we would like to see flares at a wide range of heliocentric positions). AR 8906 being currently the brightest AR on the disk, hopefully SXT will point there anyway. The co-ordinates of AR 8096 during the weekend are 18-Mar-00 at 00:00 UT Heliographic Co-ordinates: S 15.7 W 51.5 SoHO X-Y : (x,y) = (726", -188") 19-Mar-00 at 00:00 UT Heliographic Co-ordinates: S 16.0 W 66.7 SoHO X-Y : (x,y) = (851", -219") Best wishes Lyndsay
