SSOC Tohban report for Week 44 (1 November - 7 November 1993) H. Yatagai, T. Magara (SSOC) Y. Hanaoka, Y. Kato (KSC) 1. General Mercury transit was observed with SXT on Saturday. We enjoyed watching Mercury moving over corona around the south pole. 2. Solar activity Solar activity during the last week was generally low, especially in the latter half. Two C-class flares occurred, and C3.2/SF on NOAA 7613 was the largest one. Goes background fell into A-level again. 3. (**) could not be uploaded because the table command had the entire table, not the difference. <-- Chief Observer's mistake?? (***) was uploaded, but the comparison failed at the SXTSPT level (while it was successed at the MS computer). We release the YOHKOH with SXT CTL MANU. The reason of the failure is not yet clear. (****) was the same as the previous one. It was successfully uploaded in this time. 3.2 CCD BAKE OUT was postponed due to the SXT table confusion. TEC OFF and Heater ON will be performed today (on Monday) and this operation will end on Wednesday. 3.3 STT Timer Set STT timer was set on 2 November. The next setting should be done on Tuesday 9 November. 4. Special Operations 4.1 Weekly offset pointing The 8' deep corona offset pointing was performed on Wednesday. 4.2 Mercury Transit observation We set 16'south offset pointing OG in Friday's OP for the Mercury transit observation, in order to escape the stray light. This was successfully done and we got nice images of Mercury over corona with special SXT table. In advance of this operation, 16' south offset test was performed from Pass2 to Pass4 on Thursday. 5. DSN data There are no problems. 6. Errors 6.1 DP(BDR) error DP error occurred in the Pass1 Nov 4. When TMX-H-REP command was issued, Write Command Time Out Error occured in BDR.
