DSN Items Data DOY319 2216-2225 have not yet arrived, although we requested them several times. 6. Errors and Problems 6.1 The BCS error found on pass 5, Nov.21, was recovered on pass 2, Nov.22. 6.2 After the holiday (Nov.23), a trouble was found on the transmitter at KSC. No command upload was possible on Nov.24 and 25. The repair was made on Nov.25, and usual connection between KSC and Yohkoh resumed on pass 1 of Nov.26. SXT started observations on pass 4 of 26 Nov. The weekly offpoint planned for Nov.23(Wed) was postponed to Nov.29 (Mon). 6.3 The electric power at ISAS Sagamihara campus was shut down on Nov.28 (Sun). There were some troubles in re-starting workstations and the network on Nov.29(Mon). 6.4 A problem on op_first_guess reported last week was studied by Lemen and a necessary update has been made. 7. Hikitsugi 7.1 Week 48 Tohbans: SSOC: K. Hayashi, S. Harra KSC: S. Watari, Y. Suematsu 7.2 STT timer The next setting should be done on Nov.30 (Tue). 7-3. Offset Pointing The 8' east/west offpoint operations will not be done this week. 7-3. Pass Sheet Format It has been requested that the KSC AOS should always be included in the comments column and that the antenna be placed in ( ) if the actual antenna does not agree with the AOS OG. The new version of op_first_guess will have this feature included. 8. Other Items 8.1 Magnetograms sent from Mitaka are all identical since Aug.11. The trouble was fixed on Nov.25. 8.2 Concerning the DSN schedule change, the English manual says that notice of deletions for the current week should be sent to JPL via FAX and RASM. The Japanese manual only says to use FAX. The current Japanese manual is older than the most up-to-date English manual, and should be updated according to the version up if the English manual. 8.3 Naive questions from a beginner SSOC tohban (TS): (1) Why cannot the dial-up to RASM be automated? [Lemen: This is in principle possible, and the original shell script used on DecStations performs automatic dial-up operation. The same script does not work on Mips machines due to unknown reasons.] (2) Why are FAX sheets printed for preliminary and strawman schedule changes, if only e-mails and RASM are used for those schedule changes? [Lemen: Those FAX sheets are for filing purposes, and might be actually useful when everything else fails.] (3) Why is the program opogedt compiled from the source every time? The compiled executable module might be stored on the disk. [T.Watanabe will tell this to T.Kosugi.] end of report
