SSOC Tohban Report for Week 49, 1993

1. Solar Activity

  The solar activity is again low, with the largest flare being C9.7. 

2. Standard Operations

 2.1 SXT Table Uploads:

 2.2 STT Timer Set

  The STT timer was set (ie. restarted ) on Dec.10 (Fri) 1'st Pass.
 But this set had only 15 minutes "STT use" status.
  Then, we had arranged STT timer set on Dec.13(Mon) 2'nd pass ("STT
 use" status is 30 minutes).
 And we did not check the STT track, because STT timer set on week end.

 2.3 Weekly Offset Pointing

  The 8' deep corona data offset pointing was performed on Wednesday, 8-Dec.
       Pass2 : S/C offpoint E(8') , Pass3 : S/C Offpoint W(8'), 
       Pass4 : S/C normal point 

3. Special(?) operation
    On Wednesday, midnight 1'st KSC pass(ID:931208-0929) was canceled
 for year end of party at KSC. (Watanabe_Te-san accepted this.)
 We had only 4 KSC passes on that day.

4. DSN communications

  As we used full of 2 pages of the "DSN communication LOG notebook",
 we had a many communications with JPL.
  The first half of this week, DSN final schedule was changed many times
 due to shuttle supports.  Thanks J_Lemen-san for help us.
 
 4.1  DSN data (DSS16 DOY336(02-Dec-93) 1421-1431) have not yet arrived,
 and we asked Joe_Espinueva-san for it  on  Friday, 10-Dec. by FAX and `
 RASM.   But the answer has not yet come.

 4.2  We had a lot of question about Goldstone DOY319(15-Nov-93) P/B data
 and stranger data. 

5.  Problems, Errors and Accident

 5.1  SXT bit map error was found on (Tue)06-Dec. morning 5'th pass.
And it was cleared by "YOBI commands C".

 5.2  On 9-Dec at Pass1 mis-commanding was occurred. Commander mistook  
"TMS-H-REP" for "TMX-H-REP". So they couldn't completely reproduce BDR
in the Pass1. The remnant data was received at Pass2. 

 5.3  The display of Flare1 was recovered. We could not make sure of 
the cause. (Suga_san only turned the display on. It worked normally.
Was it really broken?)

 5.4  Last week tohban did not get the revised final schedule
(SOLASS.W49;3 Ver.06, DATE:03-Dec-93) from RASM in spite of they
had a chance to get it on Sat,04-Dec.
Then, YOHKOH had not contacted twice in spite of DSS66 had prepared.

6 . Hikitsugi
 6.1 Week 50 Tohbans:   SSOC:   Kosugi, Shoji

 6.2 The next STT timer setting should be done on next week(Week 51).
  To Week_50 tohbans, Please check the STT track.

 6.3 This week is a belater leap week( 7 working day ).

 6.4 We put "Power stoppage News" column into white_board at B-tou.

 6.5 Please contact with Kato-san( ISAS SIRIUS database manager ) 
  and Wendell_L_Keller-san about "the strange data".
