SSOC Tohban Report for Week 52

0. General

The end (tori) of the Yohkoh operation in the year of roosters (tori) was
conducted without any serious problems. The coming year is for dogs. A happy
new year!

1. Solar Activity

The tohban just likes to quote an BearAlert of the region 7640 from HMW (BBSO).
The solar activity was low to moderate. Regions 7645 and 7646 both have a chance
of an isolated M-class flare.

BEARALERT       1993 DECEMBER 29        20:15 UT

Update, NOAA #7640:  Region 7640 showed new flux emergence
located just east of the westernmost negative polarity
leader sunspot on the 28th.  This new flux emergence has
continued overnight and is now a small Delta configuration.
There is also another site of new flux located in the trailing
portion of 7640.  Note that this cluster of magnetic regions,
which we are calling 7640, has two Deltas.

We expect 7640 to continue to produce C-, M- and maybe even an
X-class event before it rotates from view over the west limb.

 4.1 Strawman for W02 arrived on Tuesday

  The strawman schedule for Week 02 came on Tuesday. 

 4.2 Unexpected cancellation of preliminary schedule reported in the previous
    week

  The reply came from Diem Tu.

  The data of DOY 351 requested for resending last week came on Dec 27.

5.  Problems, Errors, etc

  No errors and problems were found.   

6. Hikitugi for SSOC

 6.3 Duties left for TW (KSC) and TS & SK (SSOC)

  1. Change the passwords of the Yohkoh accounts in the mainframe R2.
  2. Change the password of the Yohkoh account in RASM. The current
      password expires on Jan 2.
  3. No SIRIUS orbital data were renewed yet. Generate AOSLOS listing
      and graphs based on the data (epoch. Dec 29).
  4. Receive the visible diagram from KSC on Jan 4 and decide the final
      schedule. There seems a couple of DSN downlinks to be cancelled in
      the final schedule for W01. Fax to Dtoh and Shuto_san.
