SSOC Tohban Report for Week 01 ( 4 JAN - 10 JAN 1994 ) Rev.A 8-Jan by SKoide Rev.B 10-Jan by TShimizu Shinji Koide (SSOC) Toshifumi Shimizu (SSOC) Tetsuya Watanabe (KSC) Masanori Nishio (KSC) 0. General The beginning of the Yohkoh operation in the new year was conducted without any serious problems. 1. Solar Activity Solar activity of week 01 was high. Following flares were observed by YOHKOH: start end GOES class comment NOAA 7647 5-JAN-94 6:45-7:25 UT M1.0 Only initial phase NOAA 6-JAN-94 4:02-4:07 UT C4.9 3 HXT spikes NOAA 7-JAN-94 2:25-3:30 UT C3.9 Unfortunately, following flares were not observed: The 2-JAN-94 22:48-23:03 UT flare (M6.5) was not observed because of night/low (new-year holiday operation). The 7-JAN-94 9:40- 9:50 UT flare (M1.3) was not observed because of the satellite night. 2. Standard Operations 2.1 SXT Table Uploads: pass (UT) (tue) 4-JAN #4 "940104 T1 P4 ARS1 DKCAL" (wed) 5-JAN #2 "940105 T1 P2 ARS1 STD" (thu) 6-JAN #2 "940106 T1 P2 DEEP CORONA H" (thu) 6-JAN #4 "940106 T2 P4 ARS1 STD" (fri) 7-JAN #4 "940107 T1 P4 ARS1 STD LONG" (sat) 8-JAN #2 "940108 T1 P2 ARS1 STD" (mon)10-JAN #1 "940110 T1 P1 CCD BAKEOUT" 2.2 STT Timer Set The timer was reset on the 2th pass (940104-0206) of January 4, 1994. 2.3 Weekly Offset Pointing (thu) 6-JAN #2 east 8 arcmin (ROG #23h) (thu) 6-JAN #3 west 8 arcmin (ROG #24h) (thu) 6-JAN #4 normal (ROG #20h) 3. Special Operation CCD bakeout is planned to start on 10-JAN-94(mon). The bakeout plan is as follows: (mon)10-JAN #1 SXT Table Upload #2 SXT TEC OFF #4 HCE Heater ON (tue)11-JAN monitor the SXT all day long (wed)12-JAN #2 HCE Heater OFF #4 SXT TEC ON SXT Table Upload The SSOC tohbans should insert the above operations into the schedules. 4. DSN communication 4.1 DSN Data Delay DSN Data until 4-JAN-94 arrived. 4.2 A Email from Wendell_L_Keller We have received a following Email. No action was performed by us because of our receipt as a carbon copy. ****************************************************************** From: Wendell_L_Keller@ccmail.Jpl.Nasa.Gov Date: 07 Jan 94 04:42:00 -0800 To: itoh@himiko.astro.isas.ac.jp, tyamada@net202.newslan.isas.ac.jp Cc: ogawara@himiko.astro.isas.ac.jp, yohkoh@flare1.solar.isas.ac.jp, Joseph_P_Goodwin@ccmail.Jpl.Nasa.Gov, Stefan_Waldherr@ccmail.Jpl.Nasa.Gov Subject: CHANGE TO DGIB BLOCK The Goddard Space Flight Center is planning on deleting the use of the Sequence Monitoring Field (bits 41-43) in the NASCOM header of the DSN-Goddard Space Flight Center Interface Block (DGIB). This three bit field is going to be used for increasing the number of source and destination codes that can be used in the DGIB. Bit 41 will expand the destination code, bit 42 will expand the source code, and bit 43 will not be used. For both source and destination codes, a value of zero in the new bit would cause the communication equipment to use the current routing codes of zero to 255 octal. A value of 1 would allow use of routing codes 256 to 512 octal. This change is scheduled to go into effect in May, 1994. Please advise us if the Sequence Monitoring Field is used and if so, if your software can be changed by that date. If the Sequence Monitoring Field is not used, no software changes are required. Best Regards *********************************************************************** 5. Problems, Errors, etc 5.1 BCS error A BCS error was found at the first pass on 4 Jan and recovered at the second pass on the same day. 5.2 SAQL trouble We could not see new-year KSC data with DL mode of "SAQL" software. This trouble has already fixed by Arare-chan (Yamashita-san, Fujitsu) on 6 Jan. This trouble was caused by the overflow in the file which contains path IDs. 5.3 SXT error An SXT bit map error was found at 940109-1444, the first pass of 10 Jan and recovered in the same pass. 6. Hikitsugi for SSOC 6.1 Week 02 tohbans: SSOC : M.Ohyama (NAOJ), Irie (NAOJ) KSC : M.Nishio (NSRO/NAOJ), H.Miyazaki (NAOJ) 6.2 The password of the Yohkoh account in RASM was changed because it was expired on 2-JAN. 6.3 STT timer should be reset on 11-JAN-94. 6.4 CCD bakeout continues until 12-JAN-94. The commands for CCD bakeout should be inserted in the operation sheets. -End of Report
