Solar Activity ------------------------------------------------------------ Solar activity during the last week was still low(below GOES B-level). There was only one bright region on the disk in which loop structure can be seen(NOAA7823-7826, they were all tiny). But over the end week, a new active region is appearing from the east limb. 2. The next STT timer set is due on Monday (16-Jan-95). 3. Special Operation ------------------------------------------------------- We were carring out the X-ray Bright Point observation campaign in the last week, according to the SXT table listed above. 4. Errors & Problems -------------------------------------------------------- 4.1 Delation of Strawman Schedule for w05 The strawman schedule did not arriv until Saturday and hence we could not have the meeting on the DSN conflict with ASCA on Friday afternoon. According to Skinner san's proposal, the negotiation was done between Skinner san and Lemen san on Saturday morning. The decision was informed to us on Saturday afternoon. 4.2 No Errors in Week 02! No SXT nor BCS errors discoverd during KSC contacts in week 02, althouh KSC tohbans reported that flare3 work station was not in good condition. 5. DSN Communications ------------------------------------------------------ 5.1 DSN Strawman Schedule for W05 There were 12 DSN conflicts with ASCA in thhe strawman schedule. They are shared evenly(6 for ASCA and 6 for YOHKOH). We canceled 15 DSN contacts from the strawman schdule. 5.2 DSN Forecast Schedule for W04 We canceled 3 DSN contacts from the preliminary schdule. 5.3 DSN Final Schedule for W03 We canceled 3 DSN contacts from the final schdule because each of them was close to a neighboring pass. 6. Yohkoh/ASCA Pass Conflicts -------------------------------------------- In week 03, we lost the following KCS passes used by ASCA. 950116-1343 (5th pass of jan 16, from 21:01 UT) 950117-1136 (4th pass of jan 17, from 17:54 UT) 950117-1240 (5th pass of jan 17, from 19:37 UT) 950118-1237 (4th pass of jan 18, from 18:14 UT) 7. Holiday Schedule ------------------------------------------------------- The next operational holiday will be on Sunday, Jan 22. 8. Hikitsugi Items -------------------------------------------------------- 8.1 Tohbans for Week 03 SSOC : MIYAZAKI, and A.STERLING KSC : NAKAGAWA,Y. and OKUBO,A. YOHKOH WOM has not been held on Monday(16th), because of substitutional holiday of the Adults Day. Duties were taken over among tohbans and SXT chief observers of the last and this weeks. 8.2 STT timer setting The next STT timer set is due on Monday (16-Jan-95). Remember that it is the first job for the next tohbans. A period of perfect geo-eclipse of Canopus is comming soon! The time interval in which Yohkoh can track Canopus during a day is diminishing this week. Next tohbans will have to set the STT timer two or more time during week 03.
