Solar Activity ------------------------------------------------------------ Solar activity began to rise during the week (reaching up to low B-level), with a few C-class events occurring near week's end. 2. We had to turn the STT off on Saturday (pass 950121-0929) since we could not set it for a long enough period to last until Monday. Similarly, the STT timer coverage time on Monday is too short to last until Tuesday. The new tohbans should be able to restart it during Tuesday night's operations. 3. Special Operation ------------------------------------------------------- SXT ran a series of special tables (see above) in order to monitor a filament during the week. HXT did calibrations during passes 950119-1031, 950120-0928, and 950120-1031. 4. Errors & Problems -------------------------------------------------------- 4.1 BCS and SXT BCS was ravaged by two SEUs during the week, found during 950116-1032 (recovered next pass, --1136) and 950120-0825 (recovered next pass, -0928). Both recoveries were completed without problems. SXT had no errors during the week. 4.2 Duplicate week 5 Strawman and Preliminary Schedule Cancellations: Of the 16 week 5 preliminary schedule cancellation requests, 14 seem to have been requested to be cancelled in the strawman schedule for week 5 by the week 2 tohbans. We have asked DSN (J. Valencia) if they received the strawman request or not. 5. DSN Communications ------------------------------------------------------ 5.1 DSN Strawman Schedule for W06 There were 21 DSN conflicts with ASUKA in the strawman schedule. Yohkoh will get 11 of them and ASUKA will have 10. We canceled 14 DSN contacts from the strawman schedule. 5.2 DSN Forecast Schedule for W05 We canceled 16 DSN contacts from the preliminary schedule. 5.3 DSN Final Schedule for W04 We canceled 1 DSN contact from the final schedule; it occurred during a period of KSC contacts. 6. Yohkoh/ASUKA Pass Conflicts -------------------------------------------- In week 04, we will lose the following KSC passes to ASUKA: 950126-0928 (Thursday pass 4, from 13:59 UT) 950127-0929 (Friday pass 4, from 14:18 UT) 950127-1033 (Friday pass 5, from 16:02 UT) We will also receive three passes that conflict with ASUKA during the week. In addition, Yohkoh operations must end one minute early during pass 950125-1031 (end at 15:36 UT), and two minutes early during pass 950125-1135 (end at 17:17 UT). 7. Holiday Schedule ------------------------------------------------------- The next operational holiday will be on Sunday, 29 Jan. 8. Hikitsugi Items -------------------------------------------------------- 8.1 Tohbans for Week 04 SSOC : TSUNETA, S., and CANFIELD, R. KSC : OKUBO, A., and YOSHIDA 8.2 Monday's OP and Command Sheets Monday's OP and command sheets have been checked and OKed by KSC. The OP must be transmitted to KSC. Check with SXT to see if there are any changes to the table upload plan for Monday. 8.3 Early End to Operations Operations must end early for two passes on 25 Jan due to conflicts with ASUKA (see Section 6 above). 8.4 STT timer setting The STT timer should be restarted during Tuesday evening's operations. 8.5 English Tohban Manual ACS is revising the English tohban manual. A new version should be ready sometime this week.
