Solar Activity ------------------------------------------------------------ Solar activity was low in week 09, staying GOES B-class level. The largest flare between 26-Feb and 4-Mar was C1.3 flare occurred at 19:51 UT on AR7846. 2. Special Operations ------------------------------------------------------- CCD Bakeout started on Mar. 1, and successfully terminated on Mar. 3. 4. Errors & Problems -------------------------------------------------------- 4.1 SXT and BCS errors. SXT bitmap error was discovered on 950305-1030, and was recovered in the same pass. 4.2 Problems Last week's tohban forgot to mention that flare1 hung up on Feb. 25. Some files seemed to be damaged, judging from the error messages on disk check. New orbital data file was not created on the Lockheed machine. A side effect of the replacement of isass0 ? It was fixed next day. 5. DSN Communications ------------------------------------------------------ 5.1 DSN Strawman Schedule for W12 We cancelled a total of 35 DSN contacts from the schedule. 5.2 DSN Forecast Schedule for W11 We cancelled a total of 0 (zero) DSN contacts from the forecast schedule. 5.3 DSN Final Schedule for W10 There was 9 cancellation for W10. 5.4 DSN Final Schedule for W09 We cancelled 1 DSN contacts from the final schedule. JPL cancelled 2 DSN contacts (DSS-46) due to a S/C emergency on TDRSS-1. There were no chances we could modify the OPs accordingly. 5.5 Wallops station Wallops test operation has started this week. There were 4 Wallops contacts for W09. Sirius people confirmed the validity of the first downlinked data. The rest of the data are yet to be transferred/checked. 6. Yohkoh/ASCA Pass Conflicts at KSC ------------------------------------- In week 09, we lost the following three KCS passes due to pass conflicts with ASCA: 950227-1343 (3rd pass of Feb.27, from 21:19 UT) 950303-1239 (3rd pass of Mar. 3, from 19:10 UT) 950303-1342 (4th pass of Mar. 3, from 20:53 UT). 7. Holiday Schedule ------------------------------------------------------- The next operational holiday will be on Sunday, March 12. 8. Hikitsugi Items -------------------------------------------------------- 8.1 Tohbans for Week10 KSC : Muranaka, Kobayashi SSOC : Nakajima, H. and Suga, K. 8.2 STT timer setting The next STT timer set is due on Tuesday (Mar. 7). 8.3 Wallops station SSOC tohban should carefully check the Wallops passes on the next-next weeks DSN final data. Some contacts should be cancelled if the Wallops station starts standard operation. Since Wallops station is not taken into account by op_first_guess, SSOC tohban will have to modify OP command tables by hand. AOSLOS program at KSC is yet to be modified to incorporate Wallops st. Hence, SSOC tohbans should fax the AOSLOS list for Wallops to KSC. 8.4 DSN Data: There is no delay. 8.5 GBO mailing list Nothing to report. 8.6 Terminators 8.7 RASM Password Changed as of Mar. 4.
