SSOC Tohban Report for Week 23_95 (5 June - 11 June 1995) SSOC: Shimojo M., Nishio M. KSC : K.Fujisaki, M.Ohyama 1. Solar Activity ----------------------------------------------------- Solar activity began to rise from start of this week. Two GOES C-class flares were observed at NOAA7874 (June 6 21:41 UT and June 6 14:30 UT). 2. Standard Operations ------------------------------------------------ 2.1 SXT Table Uploads : 2 times --------------------------------------------------------------------- KSC Time (start:JST=UT+9) Pass# Table ID --------------------------------------------------------------------- 6-JUN-95 06:08 2 950605 P2 ARS1 STD+LONG 8-JUN-95 03:20 1 950607 P1 ARS2 CHROMO CAMP --------------------------------------------------------------------- Every time a block command "BC 8C 05" was also uploaded . This is for dumping SXT patrol images. 2.2 STT Timer Setting The STT Timer was set on June 5 (in UT; 950605-1446). The next setting is due on 12-June (in UT). 3. Errors & Problems ------------------------------------------------- 3.1 SXT bitmap errors SXT bitmap error was discovered in pass #1 on June 5 (in UT; 950605-1239) and was recovered in the same pass. 3.2 BCS error BCS MEM CHK SUM error was discovered in pass #4 on June 8 (in UT; 950608- 1445) and was recovered in pass #5 on same day (950608-1548). BCS MEM CHK SUM error was discovered in pass #4 on June 9 (in UT; 950609- 1445) and was recovered in same pass. 3.3 Abnormal Termination of OP_FIRST_GUESS On June 8, we could not make an OP table from June 10 to June 12 because of abnormal termination of OP_FIRST_GUESS. Lemen_san corrected an IDL subroutine 'op_get_event' used in OP_FIRST_GUESS on next day. The cause of the problem was a new situation that has arisen because of the introduction of the Santiago DSN station. 3.4 Lost Data See '4.7 Other communication'. 4. DSN Communications ------------------------------------------------------ 4.1 DSN Strawman Schedule for W26 We cancelled 26 DSN contacts from the strawman schedule for W26. 4.2 DSN Forecast Schedule for W25 We cancelled 20 DSN contacts from the forecast schedule for W25. 4.3 DSN Final Schedule for W24 We cancelled 3 DSN contacts from the final schedule for W24. 4.4 DSN Final Schedule for W23 We cancelled 1 DSN contacts from the final schedule for W23. 4.5 Pass additions None. 4.6 Re-transmission requests We sent re-transmission requests repeatedly for the data, (1) DSS 74, 156/20:12-20:20; (2) DSS 66, 158/05:32-05:42; (3) DSS 76, 158/10:24- 10:34; (5)DSS 74, 158/20:49-21:00. We received a re-transmitted data set (DSS 74, 158/20:49-21:00). 4.7 Other communications The following passes, DSS-46 (139) 20:43---(139)20:51, DSS-16 (141) 21:51---(141)22:02, and DSS-16 (141) 23:36---(141)23:46), were cancelled in real time, due to the GOES spacecraft lunch. However, REPRO was performed at tese passes becaouse of delayed communication. The data corresponding to these period were lost. 5. YOHKOH/ASCA/SFU Pass Conflicts at KSC ---------------------------------- In week 24, there exist 15 conflicts with ASCA and SFU. 7 passes will be lost and the operation time of 2 passes will be shorten by 1 min due to the conflicts. 6. Special operation 6.1 Offert Pointing (Terminator Images) 6-Jun-95 06:11:43 OG33 6_Jun-95 09:26:23 OG34 8-Jun-95 10:02:55 OG85 8-Jun-95 13:17:35 OG86 7. Holiday Schedule The next holiday will be Sunday, 18 June. KSC contacts started from late night on June 18 in JST (nearly noon on June 18 in UT) will be skipped. ************************************************************************** 8. Hikitsugi Items -------------------------------------------------- 8.1 Tohbans for Week 24 KSC : M.Ohyama and K.Ichimoto SSOC : R.Kano and Y.Suematsu 8.2 ASCA/SFU pass conflicts (KSC) Toward the regular use of Santiago Station, we have negotiated KSC schedules up to 3 weeks ahead. Please contact Nagase-san (ex.2611) on Thursday(13:30) to fix final KSC schedule on week 25 and negotiate about pass conflicts with ASCA on Week 27. 8.3 DSS-74(Santiago) passes During the week 23, there are 6 Santiago stations in the final scedule. SSOC tobans for week 24 may have to delete some of them by the real-time cancellations. As the data transmitted from DSS-74 was correct except for header information in this week, operations to DSS-74 will be done in the mode similar with those to other DSN stations from next week. 8.4 DSS-74(Santiago) Transmitted Data In order to proceed the test of DSS-74 communication, SSOC tohban inform the detail reason when they resuest the data retransmission to DSS-74. 8.5 STT timer setting The next STT timer set is due early mornig on Tuesday, June 13 in JST. 8.6 Terminators. The terminator-offpointing program will be continued this week. The SSOC tohbans will be required to manually insert the off-point OGs for the terminators into the OP tables following to suggestion by SXT_CO. After OP_FIRST_GUESS, SSOC tohbans should send drafts of OP to SXT_CO at D-tou. SXT_CO will send a request about terminators and associated offpoints if necessary. The SXT_CO wants to have outputs of OP_FIRST_GUESS for coming 7 days in advance, data for Tuesday and Wednesday on Monday, and the remaining part after getting new orbital elements. We are using the following offpoint OG's and are going through them in sequence cyclically. That is, change each time to the next number please: OG 33 S/C W19 S01 (all OG numbers are decimal) OG 34 S/C W17 N00 OG 35 S/C W10 S01 OG 36 S/C W04 N00 OG 85 S/C W02 N17 OG 86 S/C E19 N01 OG 87 S/C E16 N00
