SSOC Tohban Report for Week 36_95 (September 4 - September 10, 1995) SSOC: Ta. Watanabe, R. Kano, M. Takahashi, Te. Watanabe, T. Sakao KSC : M. Nishio, S. Nagata Attendances of the Weekly Operation Meeting on September 11 (Mon.): T. Sakao, M. Weber, M. Sawa, Te. Watanabe, G. Slater, A. Starling, Ta. Watanabe, N. Nitta, H. Hudson, Dahni Herdiwijaya, K. Strong 1. Solar Activity ----------------------------------------------------- One C1 class event was observed at 00:41 UT on Sep. 5. This activity was observed near the western solar limb, in the AR 7904. Bright green corona was observed at Norikura. Endeavour lit up the Florida sky as it hurtled into orbit following an on-tim e lift off from Kennedy Space Center at 10:09 a.m. CT on 8-SEP. SPARTAN-201 was deployed using the shuttle's robot arm Friday morning. 2. Standard Operations ------------------------------------------------ 2.1 SXT Table Uploads : 6 tables --------------------------------------------------------------------- KSC Time (start:JST=UT+9) Pass# Table ID --------------------------------------------------------------------- 04-Sep-95 (11:44) 0206 950903 P3 ARS1 DARKCAL 05-Sep-95 (12:03) 0207 950904 P3 ARS1 STD+LONG 07-Sep-95 (09:16) 0101 950906 P2 ARS1 STD+LONG 08-Sep-95 (13:02) 0309 950907 P4 ARS1 SPARTAN-A 09-Sep-95 (09:54) 0102 950908 P3 ARS0 SPARTAN-B 09-Sep-95 (13:20) 0309 950908 P5 ARS0 SPARTAN-A --------------------------------------------------------------------- Every time a block command "BC 8C 05" was also executed. This is for dumping SXT patrol images. 2.2 STT Timer Setting The STT Timer was set on 05-SEP-95 (in the pass 950904-1548). 3. Errors & Problems ------------------------------------------------- 3.1 Hanged-up of the Control Screen of MS175 at KSC In the 5th pass of 5-SEP-95, the control system of the telemeter at KSC was hanged-up, then commands were sent manually. They presumed that the screem control software of MS175 has a problem. 3.2 SXT Bit-map error SXT Bit-map error was detected on Sep. 7 Pass 2, and was recovered in the same pass. 3.3 Telemetry Problem The telemetry interference which was reported in the SSOC Tohban Report for Week 35_95 did not take place in this week. 3.4 Mulfunction of G150 at KSC In the 2nd pass of 11-SEP-95, the terminal G150 of SSOC#1 was hanged-up, immediately after uploading of Table. Then SXT was set MANUAL. In the 3rd pass, the table was confirmed to be uploaded correcttly, at SSOC. The G150 should be repeared (taking contact with FUJITSU). 4. DSN Communications ------------------------------------------------------ 4.1 DSN Strawman Schedule for W39 We cancelled 54 DSN contacts from the Strawman Schedule for W39 (8-SEP). 4.2 DSN Preliminary Schedule for W38 We cancelled 10 DSN contacts from the Preliminary Schedule for W38 (7-SEP). 4.3 DSN Final Schedule for W37 We cancelled 1 DSN contact from the Final Schedule for W37 (7-SEP). 4.3 DSN Final Schedule for W36 We cancelled 1 DSN contact from the Final Schedule on 9-SEP (7-SEP). 4.5 Pass additions None. 5. YOHKOH/ASCA/SFU Pass Conflicts at KSC ---------------------------------- In W36, 9 KSC passes were lost because of the conflicts with ASCA. The current pattern is that for a couple of days the orbits are almost exactly out of phase, but in the following couple of days the orbits are nearly perfectly in conflict, we will lose half of the KSC contacts in these cases. There were no current pass conflicts between Yohkoh/ASCA and SFU. 6. Special operation Darkcal, Offset Pointing, BCS Calibration, and SPARTAN Dark calibration was performed on Monday (4-SEP-95) in Pass 0206. To get offpoint data in QT/H rate during the pass 0104 of 06-SEP-95, a real-time operation of OG36 (S/C E05S09) and OG32 (S/C NORM PNT) was performed. Terminator operations were performed three times on 06-SEP-95 (950906-0104 OP). Terminator operations were performed three times on 07-SEP-95 (950906-1446 OP). BCS Source Calibration was performed at about 17:34 UT on 07-SEP-95 (950906-0104 OP). BCS STIM CAL was performed in the pass 0308 on 7-SEP-95. Terminator operations were performed three times on 08-SEP-95 (950907-1546 OP). To support the SPARTAN observations, the following commands were inserted in the OP Table 950907-1546 OP: OG 33 (S/C W09 N00) @ 8-SEP-95 18:00:00 UT OG 32 (S/C NORM PNT) @ 9-SEP-95 00:01:04 UT 7. Holiday Schedule The next holiday will be Sunday, September 17. ************************************************************************** 9. Hikitsugi Items -------------------------------------------------- 9.1 Tohbans for Week 37 KSC : S. Nagata and R. Kano SSOC : A. Takeda and Dhani Herdiwijaya 9.2 STT timer setting The next STT timer set is due on Tuesday, 12 Sep. (JST). 9.3 OP_FIRST_GUESS ( from last week's report ) A couple of misses of DP rate switches in SAA have been reported in the output of 'op_first_guess'. In the week 34, 35 and 36, no problem is found about the DP rate switches, but the tohbans should take care about this item. A new bug might have crept into 'op_first_guess' program after the fix of the bug found in the weekend OP generation in W34-95. Please check OPs carefully (ref. 3.2). 9.4 SXT patrol image dumps ( from last week's report ) The block command "BC 8C 05(HEX)" should be executed with each table change. This is to dump an SXT patrol image for reference. 9.5 Offpoint terminator images The terminator-offpointing program was coonducted in the week_36. The general rule is as follows; when SSOC tohbans make a draft OP with SXT CMPN OBS's by 'op_first_guess', they should send the draft OP to the SXT_CO in D-toh via fax and consult him whether the offpoint OG's are to be inserted or not. If there are SXT_CO's requests, he send back a fax of requests, and SSOC tohbans will be required to manually insert the offpoint OGs into the OP tables. ---------------------------------------------- END of REPORT
