Errors & Problems --------------------------------------------------------- 3.1 SXT Errors There were no SXT errors. 3.2 BCS Errors There were 2 BCS errors: - detected during pass 950917-1136, recovered during pass 950917-1347. - detected during pass 950920-1341, recovered during pass 950920-1444. 3.3 KSC S3500 Computer Problem The mainframe S3500 at KSC did not work well on Saturday. This was due to a system abort which may have been caused by a sudden voltage drop which in turn caused system trouble. The problem was recovered by executing the command `EXECUTE COLD IPL' on Monday morning (JST). 3.4 Disruption caused by Typhoon #14 KSC passes 1 and 2 on Saturday were cancelled because of Typhoon #14. Consequently the scheduled table uploads on Saturday passes 1 and 4 were also cancelled. 4. DSN Communications -------------------------------------------------------- 4.1 DSN Final Schedule for W39 We cancelled 4 DSN contacts from the Final Schedule for W39 (21-Sep). 4.2 DSN Preliminary Schedule for W40 We cancelled 1 DSN contacts from the Preliminary Schedule for W40 (22-Sep) . 4.3 DSN Strawman Schedule for W41 We cancelled 79 DSN contacts from the Strawman Schedule for W41 (22-Sep). 4.4 Pass additions None. 5. Yohkoh/ASCA/SFU Pass Conflicts at KSC ------------------------------------- In W38, 10 KSC passes were lost because of the conflicts with ASCA. Next week (W39) we expect 7 KSC passes to be lost. For W38 we won't lose any passes to ASCA on Mon, Fri or Sat. However on Tue, Wed, and Thu the orbits of Yohkoh and ASCA conflict almost perfectly and we will lose half of the KSC contacts during those days. There were no pass conflicts between Yohkoh and SFU. 6. Special operation --------------------------------------------------------- Off-Pointing and Terminators Terminator operations were performed 6 times: 950918-1240 OP : 04:45:51 Normal 950919-1133 OP V2 : 21:51:43 Normal 09:55:59 Normal 950920-1134 OP : 03:45:03 OG35 (S/C W02 S09) 05:21:03 OG86 (S/C W02 N02) 13:27:27 OG87 (S/C W02 S17) 7. Holiday Schedule ---------------------------------------------------------- The next holiday will be on Sunday, 01-Oct-95. 8. Hikitsugi Items ----------------------------------------------------------- 8.1 Tohbans for Week #38 KSC : S. Hashizume and H. Hara SSOC : S. Yashiro and S. Yuda 8.2 STT Timer Setting The next STT Timer should be set on Tuesday, 26-Sep-95. 8.3 Offpoint terminator images If terminators appear in the OP generated by running `op_first_guess' then the OP should be faxed to the SXT_CO (Chief Observer) in D-toh. The SXT_CO will then inform the SSOC tohbans if offpointing will be carried out. If so, the OP will need to be edited appropriately. 8.4 Transmission of OP Please note that the OP should not be transmitted to KSC during the times of SFU passes. Before transmitting the OP the tohbans should check the sheet `Tracking Passes at KSC' to see whether an SFU pass is in progress. 8.5 SXT Patrol Image Dumps The command `BC 8C 05(Hex)' should be executed whenever an SXT table upload occurs. This command dumps an SXT patrol image which is needed to check the ARS parameters since the Sun is very quiet. 8.6 GOES_SUMMARY (Reminder) The GOES_SUMMARY program should be run on flare20 (it doesn't work on flare1 or flare11). This may be due to the version number of IDL used on flare1 and flare11 (flare1: 2.1.0, flare11: 3.0.0, flare20: 3.6.1c). -------------------------------- END of REPORT ------------------------------
