Errors and Problems ------------------------------------------------------- 3.1 SXT errors An SXT Bitmap Error was found in the pass 960122-0412, and after the new OP was written, it was cleared immediately by Yobi-C command. Because the KSC tohbans started BDR reproduction without an "SXT CHK DIS", the first part of real time data was lost for about 2 minutes. 3.2 BCS errors A BCS error was found in the pass 960126-0721 and was recovered in the same pass. 3.3 SXT Table transmission error This occurred on 23-Jan p2. When the SXT-CO sent SXT table to KSC, the state of the KSC MS was such that it was not ready to accept it. After each YOHKOH/ASCA pass ends, the MS is in a shutdown state for a while to clear its memory and to prepare for next pass. Shuto san had the impression that the trouble is related with misunderstanding by NEC personnel at KSC of the procedure of SXT table file (as well as OP/OG files) receiving when IPL is made. Fortunately,as soon as the pass tracking started ,the re-transmitted table was successfully uploaded. 3.4 SXT CCD BAKE problem Although the SXT table "960123 P2 ARS0 CCD BAKE" was uploaded at 23-Jan pass 2, the KSC TOHBANS didn't set either "TEC OFF" at pass 3 and "Heater on" at pass 4. These commands were not written in the command sheets for Tuesday, which could not be properly checked by the SSOC and KSC tohbans. 4. Hudson 8.2 STT timer setting The next STT timer set is due on 30-Jan-96 JST. 8.3 Offpoint terminator images If terminators appear in the OP generated by running OP_FIRST_GUESS, then the OP should be FAXed to the SXT_CO (Chief Observer) in D-toh. The SXT_CO will then inform the SSOC tohbans if offpointing will be carried out. If so, the OP will need be edited appropriately. 8.4 Transmission of OPs It is no longer necessary to confirm the transmission of OP/OG files to KSC by checking the printout on the 3rd floor in B-toh. Instead the time of transmission of the OP/OG files should be noted down. If the SSOC or KSC tohbans notice any failure in transmission of the OP/OG files then it should be reported to Shuto-san and Kosugi-san. 8.5 SXT patrol image dumps A block command `DP BC 8C-05 (hex)' should be executed whenever an SXT Table is uploaded. Since the Sun is very quiet, ARS parameters need to be checked by the SXT patrol images dumped by this command. 8.6 WWW server of DSN The DSN NOCC Information Server (NIS) is now on-line and available for DSN scheduling operations. The URL location is: http://dsn.jpl.nasa.gov/nss 8.7 Layout change of computers in the operation room The layout change of computers in the operation room (the 3rd floor in B-toh) will be done from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (JST) on 29-JAN-96. ------------------------------- End of Report ---------------------------------
