Errors and Problems ------------------------------------------------------- 3.1 BCS errors There were no BCS errors. 3.2 SXT errors There were no SXT errors. 4. DSN Communications -------------------------------------------------------- 4.1 DSN Final schedule for W08 Two DSN contacts were cancelled in rea-time due to DSN POLAR launch. 4.2 DSN Final schedule for W09 There were no cancellation for the week 09. 4.3 DSN Preliminary schedule for W10 We cancelled one contact from the preliminary schedule for week 10. 4.4 DSN Strawman schedule for W10 Due to the delay in receiving strawman schedule for week 11, we could not request cancellation. This should be done on monday. 4.5 Pass additions We get one realtime DSN contact addition for week 08 to accomodate the two real time cancellation. 4.6 Re-transmission requests and results The following three data sets were corrupted and we requested without any responses. We should give up these data. 034 17 2330 11% intermit data gaps Requested 5 Feb. 11% intermit data gaps Tape Requested 7 Feb. Closed/Data loss possibily due to DSN equip. problem. 13 Feb. 036 46 1202 Data not received. Requested 13 Feb. Closed/Pass deleted from DSN 7-Day schedule. 16 Feb. 039 66 0707 Data not received. Requested 13 Feb. Closed/Data available DR00004. 16 Feb. The following data was resent from JPL, however, still 33 % is corrupted. We should stop further request. 042 76 1620 65% corrupted. Requested 13 Feb. e-mail(JPL) received 16 Feb/Data not received 16 Feb. 33% data lost Due to computer replace, SIRIUS data were not yet recovered fully. We need to check the data status after they are fully recovered. 5. Yohkoh/ASUKA Pass Conflicts at KSC ---------------------------------------- In W08, six passes were lost due to conflicts with ASUKA. We will lose eight passes to ASUKA during W08. 6. Special Operations -------------------------------------------------------- For the testing new computers and networks, we did "SXT Table Read" during Pass 960220-0929 with the support from SSOC, and the result was fine. 7. Holiday Schedule ----------------------------------------------------------- The next holiday will be on Sunday, 03-Mar. 8. Hikitsugi Items ----------------------------------------------------------- 8.1 Tohbans for W08 KSC : S. Morita, S. Kubo SSOC: S. Tsuneta, S. Ueno 8.2 STT timer setting The next STT timer set is due on Tuesday, 27-Feb-96 JST. 8.3 Offpoint terminator images If terminators appear in the OP generated by running OP_FIRST_GUESS, then the OP should be FAXed to the SXT_CO (Chief Observer) in D-toh. The SXT_CO will then inform the SSOC tohbans if offpointing will be carried out. If so, the OP will need be edited appropriately. 8.4 Transmission of OPs It is no longer necessary to confirm the transmission of OP/OG files to KSC by checking the printout on the 3rd floor in B-toh. Instead the time of transmission of the OP/OG files should be noted down. If the SSOC or KSC tohbans notice any failure in transmission of the OP/OG files then it should be reported to Shuto-san and Kosugi-san. 8.5 SXT patrol image dumps A block command `DP BC 8C-05 (hex)' should be executed whenever an SXT Table is uploaded. Since the Sun is very quiet, ARS parameters need to be checked by the SXT patrol images dumped by this command. 8.6 WWW server of DSN The DSN NOCC Information Server (NIS) is now on-line and available for DSN scheduling operations. The URL location is: http://dsn.jpl.nasa.gov/nss 8.7 New Password We now send strawman and preliminary DSN deletions to JPL by three methods: EMAIL, RASM, and FTP. A password is needed for the FTP transfer. Tohbans for the new week should get this password from the previous week's tohbans. 8.8 Manual Both of the Tohban Manuals have been updated, A. Sterling doing the English manual and K. Ichimoto doing the Japanese manual. There are several new procedures, mainly revolving around tail_dsn usage. Tohbans in the coming weeks should note places where explanations are inadequate. 8.9 New Main Frame Computer We had been using two main frame computer systems for YOHKOH operation. They are now merged into one (GS8400/10). We continue to use the same terminals and the same programs, but fast. ------------------------------- End of Report --------------------------------
