Meeting Attendants ---------------- The weekly operation meeting was not held today because it is a national holiday in Japan (in lieu of Children's Day which was on Sunday. 1. Solar Activity ---------------- The Sun was very quiet (below GOES A-class) early in the week, but activity picked up at the end of the week with a GOES C-class flare and associated CME. 2. The STT timer should be set during pass 2 on 10-May (JST). 3. Errors and Problems ---------------- 3.1 SXT errors There was one SXT error detected and recovered by Yobi C during pass 3 on 29-Apr. 3.2 BCS errors There was one BCS error detected and recovered during pass 4 on 01-May. 4. DSN Communications ---------------- 4.1 DSN Final schedule for W18 No cancellations. 4.2 DSN Final schedule for W19 We canceled 1 pass. 4.3 DSN Preliminary schedule for W20 DSN canceled 6 passes. We received 1 additional pass from DSN. 4.4 DSN Strawman schedule for W20 The Strawman schedule for W20 arrived late: on Saturday 27-Apr. Hugh Hudson reviewed the schedule and negotiated the conflicts with ASCA on Monday 29-Apr. We canceled 42 passes, 23 of them due to conflicts with ASCA. 4.5 DSN Strawman schedule for W21 Hugh Hudson reviewed the Strawman schedule for W21 on 03-May. We canceled 36 passes, 10 of them due to conflicts with ASCA. 4.6 Data transmission from DSN As Katano-san was on holiday this week we have no information on the data transmission from DSN. 5. Yohkoh/ASCA Pass Conflicts at KSC ---------------- 8 passes in W18 were lost due to conflicts with ASCA. There will be emergency operations by ASCA on Wednesday and Thursday of W19 and Yohkoh will lose 3 passes on each of those days. A total of 7 passes will be lost to ASCA in W19. 6. Special Operations ---------------- 6.1 Change of off-point OGs for terminators The offpoint OGs for terminator images, OG 33 and OG 35, were changed to: OG 33 : S/C W.060 S.113 OG 35 : S/C W.070 S.336 and uploaded during pass 1 of 01-May. 7. Holiday Schedule ---------------- The next holiday is on Sunday, 12-May (JST). 8. Hikitsugi Items ---------------- 8.1 Tohbans for W18 KSC : K. Yoshimura and T. Ishii SSOC : H. S. Hudson and G. L. Slater Katano san (of NEC) was on holiday during W18. Thank you to Hugh Hudson who did the the review of the strawman schedules for W20 and W21. 8.2 STT timer setting The STT timer should be set during pass 2 on 10-May (JST). 8.3 Transmission of OPs It is no longer necessary to confirm the transmission of OP/OG files to KSC by checking the printout on the 3rd floor in B-toh. Instead, the time of transmission of the OP/OG files should be noted down. If the SSOC or KSC tohbans notice any failure in transmission of the OP/OG files then it should be reported to Shuto-san and Kosugi-san. 8.4 SXT patrol image dumps A block command `DP BC 8C-05 (hex)' should be executed whenever an SXT Table is uploaded. Since the Sun is very quiet, ARS parameters need to be checked by the SXT patrol images dumped by this command. 8.5 WWW server of DSN The DSN NOCC Information Server (NIS) is now on-line and available for DSN scheduling operations. The URL location is: http://dsn.jpl.nasa.gov/nss This is an additional means of checking the final schedule. 8.6 New works not mentioned in the manual Information about corrupt data from DSN(JPL) and the re-transmission request logs are put on the directory ~/dsn_corrupt by Katano-san. SSOC Tohbans should check these logs and report the problems.
