Yohkoh continued to observe NOAA 7968. This active region has now disappeared behind the west limb. 2. Errors and Problems ----------------------------------------------------- 3.1 SXT Errors An SXT error (Bitmap error) was found at the 1st contact on June 17 (Monday), and immediately recovered with Yobi-C. Another SXT error called '1 sec' was found at the 4th contact on June 22 (Saturday). Yobi-command A was uploaded within the contact. This error was cleard at the 5th contact by Yobi-C command. Kano san, the SXT Super Tohban wrote this error was probably caused by SEU and there is no problem in both SXT table and SXT images. 3.2 BCS Errors A BCS error was also found at the 1st contact on June 17. The BCS recovery procedure was performed at the 4th pass succellfully. 3.3 Trouble of MS at KSC On June 18 (Tuesday) the operation of ASCA could not be performed normally due to a trouble of MS machine at KSC. The Yohkoh's first pass on Tuesday was given to ASCA for recovery. 4. YOHKOH/ASCA Pass Conflicts at KSC --------------------------------------- In W25, six KSC contacts were lost due to pass conflicts with ASCA. --------------------------- Date(JST) Pass ID --------------------------- 17-Jun-96 960617-0618 17-Jun-96 960617-0721 18-Jun-96 960618-0722 21-Jun-96 960621-0517 22-Jun-96 960622-0514 22-Jun-96 960622-0618 --------------------------- Four passes will be lost in W26 due to the conflicts: --------------------------- Date(JST) Pass ID --------------------------- 25-Jun-96 960625-0413 26-Jun-96 960625-0310 26-Jun-96 960626-0413 27-Jun-96 960627-0414 --------------------------- 6. Special Operations ------------------------------------------------------ None. 7. Holiday Schedule -------------------------------------------------------- The next holiday is 30-Jun-96 (JST). 8. Hikitsugi Items --------------------------------------------------------- 8.1 Tohbans for W25 KSC : S. Tanuma and S. Nagata SSOC : K. Shibata and S. Yashiro 8.2 STT Timer Setting The next STT timer setting is due on 25-June-96. *8.3 OP Status The OP and command sheets for Monday night have been FAXed to KSC and we have received OK. The OP has already been transmitted to KSC. Please note, however, that there may be some changes in the command sheets (e.g., SXT table loads may have to be added). 8.4 DSN contacts on weekend There are 14 DSN contacts during the weekend, June 21-23; it is too much to include all of them in the weekend OP. We deleted several Quiet-Rate-Medium/Quiet-Rate-High commands for SAA's to include them. Tohbans must notice that the number of DSN contacts for weekends should be at most 12. Please try to cover maximum number of high bit-rate passes with minimum DSN contacts. 8.5 RASM password The RASM password was just updated today. 8.6 Transmission of OPs It is no longer necessary to confirm the transmission of OP/OG files to KSC by checking the printout on the 3rd floor in B-toh. Instead, the time of transmission of the OP/OG files should be noted down. If the SSOC or KSC tohbans notice any failure in transmission of the OP/OG files then it should be reported to Shuto-san and Kosugi-san. 8.7 op_first_guess LOS Medium/High Mode. Please be careful to check the KSC LOS mode during the next day's operations in the OP. 8.8 SXT patrol image dumps A block command `DP BC 8C-05 (hex)' should be executed whenever an SXT Table is uploaded. Since the Sun is very quiet, ARS parameters need to be checked by the SXT patrol images dumped by this command. 8.9 WWW server of DSN The DSN NOCC Information Server (NIS) is now on-line and available for DSN scheduling operations. The URL location is: http://dsn.jpl.nasa.gov/nss This is an additional means of checking the final schedule. The automatic ftp system works very well, and using tail_dsn one can confirm the DSN schedule without using either RASM or the Web. 8.10 RASM switch to flare20. The RASM script, krasm, now works on flare20 and not flare11. 8.11 Keyboard Trouble on Flare20 Previous tohbans reported that Flare20 sometimes begins to reject any keyboard input. We have not experienced this trouble in this week, but, when this happens, login to flare20 remotely either from flare1 or flare11 and try the "kbd_mode -a" command. If even this command fails, then contact workstation managers (manager@flare2).
