To give a better view of the large-scale structure of AR 7986, while it was over the west limb, ROG #85 (dec) - S/C W5.12 N.023 - was requested by SXT CO to KSC on pass 3 and 5 of 6-Sep-96 UT. 2. There were several terminator images at off-point positions specified by SXT CO. 3. Errors and Problems ---------------- 3.1. SXT Errors ---------------- No errors !! 3.2. BCS Error ---------------- Three errors were detected and recovered during the same pass. They were on pass 1 of 2-Sep-96, pass 1 of 3-Sep-96, and pass 3 of 6-Sep-96. 3.3. S-3500-WS at KSC KSC tohbans reported the S-3500-WS was still not well enough. Also G-150 terminal had some occasional problems. 4. DSN Communications ---------------- 4.1. DSN Final schedule for W36 ---------------- 4 passes were cancelled 4.2. DSN Final schedule for W37 ---------------- 4 passes were cancelled. 4.3. DSN Preliminary schedule for W38 ---------------- no passes were cancelled. 4.4. DSN Strawman schedule for W39 ---------------- 52 passes were cancelled. One of them was due to ASCA conflict. 4.5. Special Operations ---------------- 6.1 Campaigns The JOP044 campaign with SOHO continued (see off-point schedules above). 7. Holiday Schedule ---------------- The next KSC holiday is Sun. 15-Sep-1996 JST. 8. Hikitsugi Items ---------------- 8.1. Tohbans for W37 ---------------- SSOC: A. Sterling and J. Shin KSC : N. Saita and S. Ueno 8.2. STT Timer setting ---------------- The next setting is due on Tue. 10-Sep-96 JST. 8.3 Sirius Data Nothing to report. 8.4. OP_first_guess ---------------- Recall the warning from the previous reports. The op_first_guess failed to switch the KSC LOS quiet high (QT HI) to the medium (QT ME) mode of OP plan in the next day operation, when KSC pass was cancelled. Tohbans should pay attention to this when checking the OP and change it manually. 8.5 Week-35-A/I-1 /Prof. Ogawara/ status: OPEN Prof. Ogawara will ask Fujitsu to check the health of S-3500 located at KSC, becuase of the increased number of the problems. See section 3.3. Week-35-A/I-2 /Dr. Hudson/ status: OPEN Dr. Hudson will check the cause of the ``a few to 50 % less than expected'' DSN data receive. It may be due to either an op timing problem, or a problem on DSN side. As a first step, he will check the op timing for those ``a few to 50 % less than expected'' DSN Week-35-A/I-3 /Dr. Shimizu, Dr. Hara/ status: OPEN The workstation flare 5 currently located at SSOC should be returned to KSC for operational use. The failed display of the flare 5 currently located at KSC should be sent to SSOC for repair.
