There was no formal meeting on Monday (23-Sep-96) due to a national holiday. 0. Action Items ------------------- Week-37; /Sterling, Flare Manager/ status: CLOSE Since the installation of the new flare 1 printer, new DSN schedules have not been printed out automatically as they should be. Jim Lemen is willing to fix this, but a flare manager must tell him how the scripts must be modified to work on that printer. ---> The problem was resolved by Shimizu-san, and new DSN schedules is now automatically printed out. 1. Errors and Problems ---------------- 3.1 BCS Errors ---------------- No errors 3.2 SXT Errors ---------------- No errors 4. DSN Communications ---------------- 4.1 DSN Final schedule for W38 ---------------- It was found on Sep. 18 that one Santiago DSN pass (day 262, orbit No. 7949) was moved from day 262 to day 263 on the revised final schedule. The new pass added to day 263 is exactly the same as the previous pass on day 262 in both times and orbit No.. According to Jerry Verlindy san (DSN) who talked with Sterling san, the contact was cancelled by JPL due to a national holiday in Spain, and, instead, the new Santiago pass was added to day 263 through negotiation between someone of JPL and someone (who ?) of Yohkoh. SSOC toban finally decided to request JPL the deletion of the new pass on day 263, because SSOC could not identify the new pass on AOSLOS table and the time difference between KSC and the new passes was too small. 4.2 DSN Final schedule for W39 ---------------- 2 passes were cancelled. 4.3 DSN Preliminary schedule for W40 ---------------- 2 passes were cancelled, and 2 passes were added. 4.4 DSN Strawman schedule for W41 ---------------- 27 passes were cancelled. None(!) of them were due to ASUKA conflicts. 4.5 Data Transmission from DSN ---------------- 249 66 0435 not received Requested 09 Sep. Yohkoh/ASUKA Pass Conflicts at KSC ---------------- Three passes in W38 were lost to ASUKA. Three passes in W39 are scheduled to be used by ASUKA. 6. Special Operations ---------------- 6.1 Campaigns Special operations in this week are supports for the SOHO/Mauna Loa bright point campaign, for the Tenerife/SOHO active regions and filaments campaign, and for a VLA filament observation. 7. Holiday Schedule ---------------- The next KSC holiday is Sun, 29-Sep-1996 JST. 8. Hikitsugi Items ---------------- 8.1. Tohbans for W39 ---------------- SSOC: Shimojo and Yamamoto KSC : Hanaoka and Watari 8.2. STT Timer setting ---------------- The next setting is due on Tuesday, 24-Sep-96 JST. 8.3 Tonight's Operations. The OP for tonight (to be uploaded Monday night) and the corresponding command sheets have been already checked by KSC tobans. There are two terminators in the OP, and Off Point operations (OG 85) are prepared. 8.4 Sirius Data Nothing to report. 8.5 OP_first_guess ---------------- Recall the warning from the previous reports. The op_first_guess fails to switch the KSC LOS quiet high (QT HI) to the medium (QT ME) mode of OP plan in the next day operation when KSC pass2 is cancelled. Tohbans should pay attention to this when checking the OP and change it manually. 8.6 New Version of Tohban Manual and Tohban Check Sheet. The English language version of the tohban manual has been updated, and a new version of the Tohban Check Sheet which reflects the changes to the manual has been made. (Thanks to Jim Lemen for updating the Check Sheet.) Tohbans in the upcoming weeks are asked to write in corrections and updates (for either the manual or the checksheet) by hand in the manual when needed. They should also notify A. Sterling of the changes. 8.7 Week-36; /Hudson/ status: CLOSED H. Hudson showed the aspect sensor of HXT sensitivity in X-Y axis decreased about 6 pixels. T. Sakao will check again. ---> Sakao-san have checked the status of HXA this week (38), and have also carried out HXA calibration. Week-35-A/I-1 /Ogawara/ status: OPEN Prof. Ogawara will ask Fujitsu to check the health of S-3500 located at KSC, because of the increased number of the problems. Week-35-A/I-3 /Shimizu, Hara/ status: OPEN The workstation flare 5 currently located at SSOC should be returned to KSC for operational use. The failed display of the flare 5 currently located at KSC should be sent to SSOC for repair.
