The purpose of the offpoint is to watch the limb passage of the decaying active region. The offset was maintained the whole week. 3. Errors and Problems 3.1 BCS Error A BCS error was found in the fourth pass of Saturday (961102-1238). This will be recovered at 961104-0826. 3.2 No SXT Errors 3.3 TMS-H-REP TMS-H-REP was mistakenly issued in Pass 5 of Saturday (961102-1342). BDR- STBY was executed during the pass. BCS recovery was postponed. The sixth pass had fortunately the maximum elevation greater than 10 degree, and it was decided to be tracked. However, KSC tohbans and operators did not recognize during the first half of the pass that S-REAL command was required to have the real-time data in the S band, and managed to send only BDR-REC at the end of the pass. No data dump was performed. 4. Requested 01 Nov. 4.6 DSN Concern Over High Frequency of Yohkoh Retransmission Requests Jose Valencia of DSN sent an e-mail message to Yohkoh operations expressing his concern over the overburdening of the 'CDR' by the high number of 'retransmission' requests from Yohkoh and ASCA. After discussions with T. Watanabe and Y. Seko, G. Slater responded to the concerns of DSN regarding the number of Yohkoh retransmission requests. Waiting for JPL's reply. 5. Yohkoh/ASCA/AKEBONO Pass Conflicts at KSC: Week 44: 4 passes given to ASCA. Week 45: 2 passes given to ASCA. 6. Special Activities: Yohkoh Fifth Anniversary Symposium is going to be held during November 6 - 8, 1996. 7. Holiday Schedule: The next KSC holiday is Sunday, 10-Nov-1996 JST. 8. Shinoda 8.2 STT Timer setting The next setting is due on 5 November (Tuesday). 8.3 Sirius Data Nothing to report. 8.4 OP_first_guess Recall the warning from the previous reports: op_first_guess fails to switch the KSC LOS quiet high (QT HI) to the medium (QT ME) mode of OP plan in the next day operation when KSC pass2 is cancelled. Tohbans should pay attention to this when checking the OP and change it manually. New Bug report (Week 39, Shimojo) The op_first_guess fails to include SXT CAMP OBS in quiet medium for SAA zone. Tohbans should change the rate mode or delete SXT CAMP OBS operations. 8.5 Email terminator information to SXT CO The SXT chief observer prefers to receive any terminator schedule by E-mail (sxt_co@isass0) rather than by FAX. See the note in the SXT CO report. 8.6 Week-35-A/I-1 /Ogawara, Hara/ status: TABLED An action item to investiage the cause of recurrent problems with of the S-3500 at KSC has been tabled because no problems have occurred for several weeks. The investigation will continue if and when further problems recur. 8.7 Week-42-A/I-1 /Hudson, Lemen, Yoshida/ status: OPEN T. Yoshida has produced preliminary software to aid in optimizing the Yohkoh DP rate in OPs. The final implementaion of Yoshida san's software will probably have to await the next visit by Jim Lemen 8.8 Week-43A/I-1 /Slater, Watanabe, Seko/ status: OPEN After discussions with T.
