Errors and Problems 3.1 SXT Errors There was a Line Sync SXT error found during pass 3 on Mon 18-Nov (pass ID: 961118-0721). During that pass the commands Yobi-A and Yobi-B were issued. During the next pass (pass ID: 961118-0824) SXT Recovery was done and the error recovered. 3.2 BCS Errors There were 2 BCS errors. One was found during pass 1 on Mon 18-Nov (pass ID: 961118-0514) and recovered during pass 2 of the same day (pass ID: 961118-0617). The other one was found during pass 5 on Tue 19-Nov (pass ID: 961119-0825) and recovered during pass 1 of the next day (pass ID: 961120-0412). 4. DSN Communications: 4.1 DSN Final schedule for W47 (this week): 7 passes were canceled. These were all canceled by DSN probably due to the launch of Hotbird (delayed several times). 4.2 DSN Final schedule for W48 (next week): 2 passes were canceled. These were unnecessary DSN passes. 4.3 DSN Preliminary schedule for W49: 30 passes were canceled. The reason why this is so large is because only 2 of the 33 requested deletions for the Strawman schedule for W49 were done by DSN. 4.4 DSN Strawman schedule for W50: 33 passes were canceled. None of these were due to ASCA conflicts, only unnecessary DSN passes. 4.5 Data Transmission from DSN: (Status: See /home/flare1/yohkoh/dsn_corrupt/96_XX) Seko-san's Report: 301 74 1926 not received Requested 01 Nov. not received Requested 11 Nov. COMMENT: I requested 11 data for w46. I received e-mail regarding Wallops and Santiago data and only requested 6 data for w47. Therefore the retransmission requested from JPL has decreased from w46 to w47. Now the Yohkoh database is up to date to 11-Nov-96. 5. YOHKOH/ASUKA/AKEBONO Pass Conflicts at KSC: Week 47: 3 passes given to ASCA. Week 48: 3 passes given to ASCA. 6. Special Operations: 6.1 Campaigns Most of the week Yohkoh supported the joint observing program SOHO JOP 3. On 21-Nov Yohkoh supported an observing program request by the SOHO MDI team (Craig DeForst) to observe NOAA region 7997. 6.2 BCS Calibrations A BCS stim calibration (Day) was done during pass 2 on 21-Nov (pass ID: 961121-0412), and a BCS source calibration was done on 961121, near 07:57 UT. 7. Holiday Schedule: The next KSC holiday is Monday, 2-Dec-96 JST. 8. Hikitsugi Items: 8.1 Tohbans for W48 SSOC: S. Masuda and N. Nitta KSC: T. Takano and Y. Suematsu 8.2 STT Timer setting The next setting is due on 26-Nov (Tuesday). 8.3 Sirius Data Nothing to report. 8.4 Times Not to Transmit to KSC Due to preparations for the Muses-B launch the Yohkoh SSOC tohbans should NOT send commands by computer (e.g., transmit OPs) to KSC during the following times: 06-Dec-96 10:00 -- 12:00 06-Dec-96 15:30 -- 17:00 07-Dec-96 15:30 -- 17:00 09-Dec-96 14:00 -- 15:00 11-Dec-96 14:00 -- 16:00 13-Dec-96 17:00 -- 19:00 16-Dec-96 14:00 -- 16:00 18-Dec-96 12:00 -- 14:00 8.5 Terminators Rather than sending a fax as done before, the SSOC tohbans should now send email to the SXT CO (sxt@isass0) the terminators schedule so he can decide about offpoints or filters to be used. 8.6 Week-46-A/I-1 /Ogawara/ Status: OPEN Greg Slater reported that the Sony LD recorders of D-toh have some trouble writing images. Ogawara-semnsei will ask SONY to do some maintenance on them. 8.7 Week-42-A/I-1 /Hudson, Lemen, Yoshida/ status: OPEN T. Yoshida has produced preliminary software to aid in optimizing the Yohkoh DP rate in OPs. The final implementation of Yoshida san's software will probably have to await the next visit to ISAS by Jim Lemen. 8.8 Week-35-A/I-1 /Ogawara, Hara/ status: DEFERRED An action item to investigate the cause of recurrent problems with of the S-3500 computer at KSC has been deferred because no problems have occurred for several weeks. The investigation will continue if and when further problems recur. As FACOM's interim message, Ogawara-sensei reported that the GBIB board might be problematic. If that might be the case, he would see it is would be possible to have another board from from a computer in Tsuruta-san's Lab, which we borrowed during the initial operations of Yohkoh. 8.9 Yohkoh and Muses-B KSC conflict (1-DEC-96 - 1-FEB-97) Due to preparations for the launch of Muses-B the following is a list of passes expected to be lost by Yohkoh and proposed holidays: DAY(JST) COMMENT 2-DEC-96(Mon.)
