Errors and Problems 3.1 SXT Errors and Problems: 3.1.1 SXT Table Upload Error The SXT table '970129 P4 ARS1 DARKCAL' was not uploaded correctly, because SXT CO made an error when generating a command sequence to load a table. See Appendix 1. 3.1.2 SXT Table Transfer Error We cannot send SXT tables from SSOC main frame 1 computer to MS satellite operation computer since 10h(JST) 01-Feb-1997. Now, Hara-san is checking for this problem. 3.2 BCS Errors and Problems: There were three BCS Errors last week. One found and recovered on pass 4 of Jan. 25 (Pass ID: 970125-0309), another found and recovered on pass 1 of Jan. 31 (Pass ID: 970130-1340), and another found and recovered on pass 3 of Feb. 02 (Pass ID: 970201-1445). 3.3 KSC Problems: 3.3.1 Network Problems: Yokoyama-san (KSC Tohban) modified some network configuration files on the flare5 workstation. This modification was reported to Yohkoh workstation managers. 3.3.2 Playback Data Problems: The time calibration software on S3500 computer didn't work correctly to the playback data taken at the passes: 970128-0001, 970128-0104, 970130-1340. See Appendix. 2. 3.4 Directory Problem on Yohkoh Workstations. The DSN schedule files for 1996 and 1997 were in the same directory. This was noticed by Seko-san and Paul-san. Lemen-san cleared up the /ydb/orbit_raw directory. 4. DSN Communications: 4.1 Cancellations for W05: 2 passes were canceled. 4.2 DSN Final schedule for W06: 8 passes were canceled. 4.4 DSN Preliminary schedule for W07: 10 passes were canceled. 4.5 DSN Strawman schedule for W08: 25 passes are canceled. 4.6 Data Transmission from DSN: 358 74 2210 not received Requested 07 Jan. no response Requested 13 Jan. YOHKOH/ASCA/AKEBONO/MUSES-B Pass Conflicts at KSC: 5.1 Canceled passes for W05-06 Week 05: 1 pass was canceled for ASCA and for Muses-B. Week 06: 1 pass will be canceled for Muses-B, and 3 passes for ASCA and 2 passes for AKEBONO. The launch operation for Muses-B will be done from 10-Feb to 11-Feb, so the next holidays are 10-Feb-1997 and 11-Feb-1997. 6. Special Operations: None. 7. Holiday Schedule: The next holidays are 10-Feb-1997 and 11-Feb-1997. 8. Action Items 9.1 Week-42-A/I-1 /Hudson, Lemen, Yoshida/ status: DEFERRED UNTIL JIM'S VISIT T. Yoshida has produced preliminary software to aid in optimizing the Yohkoh DP rate in OPs. The final implementation of Yoshida san's software will probably have to await the next visit to ISAS by Jim Lemen. Appendix 1. Nitta-san's mail ---------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 30 Jan 1997 13:42:53 +0900 From: SXT Chief Observer Message-Id: <9701300442.AA05006@isass0.solar.isas.ac.jp> To: hara@corona.mtk.nao.ac.jp, sxt_co@isass0.solar.isas.ac.jp, yohkoh@flare1.solar.isas.ac.jp, yohkoh@flare4.solar.isas.ac.jp Subject: error Status: RO I have made exactly the same error as senior COs did in the past, namely pressing "2" instead of "1" when generating a command sequence to load a table. As a result, the command sequence covered the entire table. At pass 4 on 30-JAN-97, when the table was to be sent, TBL WR did not seem to finish in time. The tobans had to issue the Yobi-A command to put SXT in a safe condition. At pass 5 the following procedure was carried out by the KSC tobans under the supervision of SXT Supertoban Hara san. 1. SXT CHK DIS (for reading the table) 2. SXT TBL RD (downlink of the content of the on-board table) 3. Generated (in SXTSPT) another command sequence that reflected table just downlinked. 4. Confirmed the arrival of the command seqeunce. 5. SXT TBL WR (writing to the satellite) 6. SXT TBL RE 7. Confirmed both on MS and in SXTSPT that the right table was written to the satellite. 8. SXT CTL AT 9. SXT operations resumed. No problem. I am sorry a simple mistake caused so much trouble. Sincerely, Nariaki Nitta ---------------------------------------------------------------- Appendix 2. Playback Data Problem ---------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 31 Jan 97 12:21:39 JST From: Yohkoh operator (KSC tohbans) Message-Id: <9701310321.AA04164@flare5.solar.isas.ac.jp> To: yohkoh@flare1.solar.isas.ac.jp Subject: jikokutuke Status: R
