Special Operations 3.1 Spacecraft pointing OG 32(dec) (S/C W.170 N.754) was done during pass 1 on Monday (04-MAY) 3.2 Campaign Observations There were three capmpain observations. The first is an observing campaign to look for X-ray jets with SUMER from 3-May to 15-May. This campaign will be over at 16-May. The second observing campaign was done to support the VAULT rocket around 7-May 20:00. The third was the VLA+CDS campaign to measure differential emission measures (JOP 100) at 9-May 14:00-24:00 UT. -------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Errors and Problems 4.1 BCS Errors: A BCS error was found during 1st pass on 5-May(990505-0722), but was recovered during next pass. 4.2 SXT Errors: no SXT error 4.3 SIRIUS Problem Temporal sirius data and reformatted data were NOT created for pass 5 on 4-May and all passes on 5-May. Watanabe san contacted Shuto san, and then the SIRIUS was recovered to normal operation on 6-May. -------------------------------------------------------------- 5. NASA Station Scheduling 5.1 Contact pass cancels/adds The following DSN/NASA passes were added/deleted: =================================================================== DSN/NASA Schedule Week Schedule Changes =================================================================== Realtime 19 1 pass deleted by DSN (Santiago) Final 20 6 passes deleted by SSOC Final 20 2 passes deleted by DSN (Santiago) Preliminary 21 no cancel Strawman 22 68 passes deleted by SSOC =================================================================== 5.2 Data Transmission from NASA Ground Stations -(From /home/flare1/yohkoh/dsn_corrupt/99_19)------------ 109 80 1554 corrupted tape requested 23 Apr no response tape requested 27 Apr no response tape requested 07 May 110 80 0738 corrupted tape requested 23 Apr no response tape requested 27 Apr no response tape requested 07 May 110 80 0918 corrupted tape requested 23 Apr no response tape requested 27 Apr no response tape requested 07 May 111 80 1115 corrupted tape requested 27 Apr no response tape requested 07 May 112 80 0806 corrupted tape requested 27 Apr no response tape requested 07 May 113 80 0821 corrupted tape requested 27 Apr no response tape requested 07 May 114 80 1200 not received requested 07 May -------------------------------------------------------------- 6. KSC Pass Conflicts and Schedule In week 20, 8 KSC contacts will be lost due to conflict with ASCA. -------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Hikitsugi Items 7.1 Tohbans for week 20 SSOC: M.Miyashita, M.Ohyama KSC: M.Shinkawa, T.Sakao 7.2 STT timer setting STT timer setting is due on Tuesday, 11-May-99 (JST) 7.3 Holiday Schedule The next holiday will be Sunday, 16-May-99 (JST). 7.4 Terminator Images for weekend OP If there is empty slot in the weekend OP, please add OG for terminator image to the weekend OP. Normally we can not do this, because there is no empty slot in the weekend OP. 7.5 Elevation (from previous week) SSOC Tohbans need to examine the maximum elevation when checking the DSN final schedule, because the maximum elevation may change from the strawman to final schedule due to changing orbital elements. DSN requires a maximum elevation more than 7 degrees . This is listed in the English language manual, but not the Japanese language manual. If this information is put in the manual we can delete this item from hikitsugi. 7.6 KSC pass conflicts (from previous week) ASCA conflicts cause the loss of about 10 KSC contacts per week at this time We do not know which contacts Yohkoh will lose until the weekly meeting. Santiago contacts occur on the same orbits as KSC contacts. Therefore, keep as many Santiago contacts as possible in the DSN Strawman and Preliminary Forecasts. === END ===
