18 February 1996 Serge Savy SXT CHIEF OBSERVER REPORT AND TABLE PLAN SXT CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 07: 12-FEB-96 to 18-FEB-96 SOLAR ACTIVITY The Sun was quiet all last week with no major flares. For most of the week we tracked a significant filament across the north of the disc that was associated with a band of diffuse corona in the FFI images. On Friday we switched to automatic targeting of an active region that appeared on the east limb. This region exhibited an interesting X-type structure and diffuse component above its main loops. SXT INSTRUMENT STATUS No significant SXT errors occurred. SXT continues to function normally. CAMPAIGNS Filament campaign during the most of the week. Correspondents: R. Canfield, K. Reardon, A. Kiplinger, L. Jiao, H. Zirin Purpose: to observe filament channels and possibly catch eruptions with SXT in a configuration for good time resolution. SEMINARS There was no seminar in week 07. SXT TABLE PLAN FOR WEEK 08 (19-Feb-96 to 25-FEB-96) This week we will continue to observe the new active region on the east limb during the main-frame computer replacement period (17-22 February). On Friday we plan to change to the weekly dark calibration table for one day. The weekly diffuser images will be taken as part of a standard table on Saturday. The standard weekend table will be loaded during Sundays passes as this is a 7 day week of operations.
