15 March 1996 Hugh Hudson SXT CHIEF OBSERVER REPORT AND TABLE PLAN SXT CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 11: 10-Mar-96 to 17-Mar-96 SOLAR ACTIVITY The solar activity continued to be low, but there was a nice AR with lots of sub-C events and general enthusiasm (tiny brightenings in the leading polarity, jets, etc). SXT INSTRUMENT STATUS There were no problems. The difficulties with SXTSPT did not recur and there seems to be no technical issue, according to an informal report from Hara_san. CAMPAIGNS There were no campaign activities this week. The next scheduled campaign is the bright-point campaign in early April. After the Bath week (see the plan below) there will also be the possibility of target-of-opportunity observations, such as for filament eruptions. SEMINARS There was no ISAS seminar this week. SXT TABLE PLAN FOR WEEK 12 (18-Mar-96 to 25-Mar-96) No official campaign is scheduled for this week, the ISAS mainframe computer will be down for three days, and most of the Yohkoh operations people will be at the Bath meeting. Thus we do not plan to do anything more than limited caretaker operations. The plan below shows only the dark cal table (22 Mar) and the standard table to replace it (23 Mar). The long exposures are removed and we will do Al.1 and AlMg terminators with no offpoints if the opportunities arise.
