21 April 1996 Serge Savy SXT CHIEF OBSERVER REPORT AND TABLE PLAN SXT CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 16: 16-APR-96 to 21-APR-96 SOLAR ACTIVITY Solar activity was low. Two B-class flares occurred and there were several small bright regions visible. A partial eclipse was observed on 17 April. SXT INSTRUMENT STATUS SXT was completely operational with no errors. CAMPAIGNS A special table was loaded on Thursday to observe two episodes of a partial eclipse on 17 April UT. The observations were successful. Images and more information on the WWW at http://isasxa.solar.isas.ac.jp/~hudson/apr96.eclipse (and show_pix in IDL). A special table was loaded on 19 April (for one orbit only) to carry out an SXT gain check. SEMINARS The seminar for week 15 was by K. Shibasaki (Nobeyama Radio Observatory) on "Radio Sources above a Flare Loop". SXT TABLE PLAN FOR WEEK 17 (22-Apr-96 to 28-Apr-96) There are no campaigns planned for this week. The dark calibration table will be loaded on Tuesday, and the weekly diffuser images included as part of a standard table on Wednesday. The provisional SXT Table Plan for the week is as follows: KSC Time (start) in JST Pass Table ID _____________(= UT + 9 hrs)______#_______________________________ Monday 22-APR-96 20:09 2 960422 P2 ARS1 STD+LONG Tuesday 23-APR-96 20:28 2 960423 P2 ARS1 DKCAL Wednesday 25-APR-96 00:13 4 960424 P4 ARS1 STD+DIFFU Thursday 25-APR-96 21:06 3 960425 P3 ARS1 STD+LONG Friday 26-APR-96 19:43 2 960426 P2 ARS1 STD+LONG Saturday 27-APR-96 18:19 2 960427 P2 ARS1 STD+LONG *** Please note that this table plan may change *** Dumping Patrol images: We request that KSC tohban continue to dump a patrol image each time an SXT table is loaded to facilitate the study of optimizing ARS parameters for an awfully quiet period. SSOC TOHBAN, please fax the preliminary OP list to D-tou when it contains a terminator so that the Chief Observer can suggest which OG's to use.
