30 June 1996 Serge Savy SXT CHIEF OBSERVER REPORT AND TABLE PLAN SXT CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 26: 24-JUN-96 to 30-JUN-96 Solvin' problems is like throwin' cattle. Dig your heels in on the big ones and catch the little ones 'round the neck. from `A Cowboy's Guide To Life' SOLAR ACTIVITY Solar activity has been low, although there were several small active regions on the disc at the same time in week 26. SXT INSTRUMENT STATUS There was an SXT bitmap error on the 24th at the first contact, recovered immediately with Yobi-C. At Pass 4 on the 26th an SXT Shou-gou (comparison) error occurred (probably related to an MS computer problem at KSC the previous day), and was recovered by Hara-san on the 26th. Otherwise, SXT performed smoothly this week and is operating well. CAMPAIGNS During week 27 we supported a campaign with Alexander Pevtsov (SPO), observing AR7973 for a few days for Stokes measurements. SEMINARS On Thursday, June 27, Dr K. Ichimoto of NAO discussed "Measurement of the Coronal Electron Temperature at the Total Solar Eclipse on 1994 Nov.3" DISC PROBLEM The data disc on isass2 machine had a problem on Saturday. At the moment recent reformatted data is not available. We are trying to redirect the output of the reformatter to another disc, and repair the isass2 drive.
