14 October 1996 Serge Savy SXT CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT AND TABLE PLAN CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 41 8-Sep-96 to 13-Oct-96 SOLAR ACTIVITY Solar activity remained low, with GOES at the background level. SXT INSTRUMENT STATUS No problems or significant errors last week. SXT continues to function well. Last week we successfully conducted a CCD bakeout on 9 October. CAMPAIGNS Special observations of a filament on the south east limb were conducted in coordination with SoHO 11 and 12 October. SEMINARS There were no seminars this week, as Thursday was a holiday. SXT TABLE PLAN FOR WEEK 42 (14-Oct-96 to 20-Oct-92) This week we will be supporting SoHO JOP33 14-18 October 14-18 by observing XBPs (and hopefully X-ray Jets) for Lyndsay Fletcher. 19-25 October we start a coronal loop filling factors campaigns with George Klimchuk. The purpose of this campaign is to observe AR loops and polar plumes with CDS for filling-factor determinations. Yohkoh would provide key information on time variability of the CDS targets. A dark calibration table will be loaded on Tuesday, and the weekly diffusers included as part of a standard table on Wednesday. SSOC TOHBAN, please fax the preliminary OP list to D-tou when it contains a terminator so that the Chief Observer can suggest which OG's to use.
