26 January 1997 Serge Savy / Nariaki Nitta SXT CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT AND TABLE PLAN CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 04 20-Jan-97 to 26-Jan-97 SOLAR ACTIVITY The Sun was very quiet last week with only a few small active regions visible. There was one B-class flare on 20 January. SXT INSTRUMENT STATUS The SXT instrument remains in fine working order. CAMPAIGNS A campaign to observe streamers in collaboration with SoHO spacecraft ended on 22 January. SEMINARS There were no Yohkoh seminars in Week 4. SXT TABLE PLAN FOR WEEK 05 (26-Jan-97 to 02-Feb-97) This week may be a quiet week, since we are not aware of SoHO campaigns at the time of writing. But we are flexible enough to accomodate a last minute request. If we do not hear from anybody, I would like to stare at a region over the week end for a CME. The dark calibration table will have to be postponed to Thursday because of a irregular spacecraft holiday on Wednesday. The weekly diffusers are included as part of a standard table on Friday. SSOC TOHBAN, please e-mail any terminator schedule to the chief observer (sxt_co@isass0) so that he can decide about filters and offpoints.
