31 October 1998 Hugh Hudson David Mckenzie SXT CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT AND TABLE PLAN CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 44 24-Oct-98 to 1-Nov-98 GENERAL Yohkoh and SXT have performed well this week. Solar activity was distinctly low. SXT TECHNICAL The re-point of Monday worked fine. The advance preparation of tables for Wednesday and Thursday worked fine, thanks to the tohbans. We intend to do a one-day CCD bakeout, this week, Thursday-Friday. There may be table plan revisions Monday especially because of the SPARTAN and rocket flights. CAMPAIGNS There were no formal campaigns this week. PERSONNEL Phil Shirts arrived. Many visitors will be circulating around ISAS next week. SEMINARS There was no seminar this week because of the Kiyosato meeting. DRAFT SXT TABLE PLAN, WEEK 45 (2-Nov-98 - 8-Nov-98) This week starts with SPARTAN observations, which commence shortly before Pass #1 on Nov. 2, and the SOPHIE rocket flight, scheduled for 18:20 UT the same day. This is just at orbit sunset for Yohkoh, but we should have good observations up to a few minutes before. ________________________________#_______________________________ JST Day UT Start Time Pass Table ID Monday 2-NOV-98 03:17 1 981102 P1 ARS2 SPAR1 2-NOV-98 06:42 3 981102 P3 ARS2 SPAR2 Tuesday 3-NOV-98 01:52 1 981103 P1 ARS2 SPAR3 3-NOV-98 05:16 3 981103 P3 ARS2 SPAR4 Wednesday 4-NOV-98 02:08 1 981104 P1 ARS1 DIFF 4-NOV-98 05:33 3 981104 P3 ARS1 DARKCAL Thursday 5-NOV-98 00:43 1 981105 P1 ARS1 BAKE Friday 6-NOV-98 06:06 4 981106 P4 ARS1 STD Saturday 7-NOV-98 02:57 2 981107 P2 ARS1 STD
