CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 12 19-Mar-01 through 25-Mar-01 A. Takeda GENERAL Flare activity was high during the week. 13 M-class flares were reported. These events were all M1-class, except the one on 25th (M2.5 @AR9393). They were generally spiky and short-lived. SXT must have observed a few of them around DSN passages, but none has arrived at ISAS yet. During this coming week, significant activity is expected in a new region, AR9393, now near the NE-limb. KSC Tohbans: In general flare mode supersedes table upload, i.e. if a flare is in progress please do not upload a new table, and contact the chief observer. Normally it is OK to go ahead with the planned table without change on the next pass, if it is available. Chief observers should keep an eye on this.
