GENERAL 

Solar activity was low, with only one M-class flare, which was 
probably associated with a halo CME.


SXT TECHNICAL 

SXT functioned without problems, no new anomalies to report. Canopus
eclipse ended.

CAMPAIGNS 

SXT continued to support SOHO JOP 131/149 for Brigitte Schmieder, but
the uplink timing was not so good.

SEMINARS

There was a seminar with two speakers. F. Farnik (Ondrejov/ISAS) spoke on 
"The Hard X-ray Spectrometer (HXRS)", and H. Hudson (SPRC/ISAS) on "The 
early phase of the flare of Sep. 24, 2001".  Boris Somov appeared again 
for tea to enlighten key D-toh staffers on magnetic reconnection.

KSC & SSOC Tohbans: If any KSC passes are likely to be cancelled (for
example due to typhoons) or an SXT table cannot be uploaded for any 
reason, please telephone and e-mail the Chief Observer immediately.
(sxt_co@isass0.solar.isas.ac.jp, copy to sxt_st@flare2.solar.isas.ac.jp).

KSC Tohbans: In general flare mode supersedes table upload, i.e. if a
flare is in progress please do not upload a new table, and contact the
chief observer. Normally it is OK to go ahead with the planned table
without change on the next pass, if it is available. Chief observers
should keep an eye on this.
