CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 43 22-Oct-01 through 28-Oct-01 A. TAKEDA GENERAL Flare activity was high during the week. NOAA 9672, located at around 20 deg., south, produced two X-class flares on the 22nd and 25th. Yohkoh/SXT covered some part of the maximum phase of both flares. SXT TECHNICAL No problems to report. KSC Tohbans: In general flare mode supersedes table upload, i.e. if a flare is in progress please do not upload a new table, and contact the chief observer. Normally it is OK to go ahead with the planned table without change on the next pass, if it is available. Chief observers should keep an eye on this.
