CHIEF OBSERVER'S REPORT for Week 48

GENERAL 

Solar activity was slightly higher than last week; there were thirteen
flares above GOES M.

SXT TECHNICAL 

No new problems to report.  A slow roll of the solar images is noticed
during this week, due to the eclipse of our guide star Canopus.

This week's nugget, "High-latitude Eruption with Coronal Signatures"  
describes an eruption that was noticed near the southern polar crown.

asterisk means that the ID's date number differs from the upload 
date in JST. 

This table plan is likely to change. 
Prepare for last minute changes, even with naming conventions.

Continuing requests:

KSC & SSOC Tohbans: If any KSC passes are likely to be cancelled (for
example due to typhoons) or an SXT table cannot be uploaded for any 
reason, please telephone and e-mail the Chief Observer immediately.
(sxt_co@isass0.solar.isas.ac.jp, copy to sxt_st@flare2.solar.isas.ac.jp).

KSC Tohbans: In general flare mode supersedes table upload, i.e. if a
flare is in progress please do not upload a new table, and contact the
chief observer. Normally it is OK to go ahead with the planned table
without change on the next pass, if it is available. Chief observers
should keep an eye on this.
