***** About the goes_daily_avr files (19-Jun-2009) ***** The Yohkoh software have provided several convenient functions to read/plot the X-ray flux from the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES). These functions make use of the GOES data archive, which is constructed as a part of the Yohkoh database and is still updated daily. It is with this historical background that here we provide the GOES X-ray flux for the years since the Yohkoh mission (from 1991 onward). The data are the ascii files of the daily avaraged flux (0.1-0.8 nm band), and thus suitable for the synoptic studies like solar irradiance variation, rather than the short-term event analysis. << description of each column >> column 1 : Dates column 2 : Daily averaged values of the GOES/XRS low band flux (0.1-0.8nm)in the units of W/m^2. The value, '-1' was set for the dates data are missing. column 3 : The GOES satellite number from which data are drawn. The files provide here were processed using the GOES week files in our own archive. The original GOES data are found on-line at the site of the National Geophysical Data Center (http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/stp/GOES/goes.html).
