SOLAR ACTIVITY

Activity was slightly high. The number of M class flares was 19. The
biggest flare was M6.9 on 28-NOV-01.  The background level was higher than
GOES C1.
 

OBSERVING CAMPAIGNS

Yohkoh participated in no coordinated observations during these two weeks.

SXT INSTRUMENT STATUS AND CALIBRATION ACTIVITIES

There was no significant problem to report.

SXT Shutter error was detected on 06 December and recovery plan was
successfully done within the day. Yohkoh normal pointing was adjusted on 08
December.

OBSERVING SEQUENCES:

The PFI tables had 2x2 observing regions in QT/Hi and 1x1 ORs in QT/Med and 
FLARE modes.


SCIENCE NUGGETS:

November 30: "High-latitude Eruption with Coronal Signatures", reports on a
coronal eruption which occurred at high-latitude.

December 07: "Motion observed in soft X-rays", describes the motion
(downward motion and shrinkage) observed in a flare.
